VII A Assembly – Helping community
An inspiring assembly on the theme “Helping the Community” was presented by the students of Class VIIA along with their class teacher Anjula Rai.
The assembly beautifully highlighted the importance of kindness, compassion, service and caring for others.
The highlight of the assembly was a touching skit on Don Bosco and Mama Margaret, portraying how Mama Margaret chose to care for the boys at the Oratory and transformed it into a loving home. The presentation conveyed the message that a strong community is built through love, sacrifice, support, and faith.
The students then presented a colourful “Rainbow of Kindness”, where each colour represented a value—Love, Helping, Respect, Nature, Peace, Responsibility, and Unity. The assembly also featured the meaningful song “Together We Can Help”, encouraging everyone to perform small acts of kindness in their daily lives.
Children also performed a street play on the song helping community depicting various values on how we can help each other
The students introduced inspiring community role models and organisations such as Anshu Gupta and Goonj, Pratham, CRY, Smile Foundation, and HelpAge India, highlighting their contribution to society.
The Lay Salesian Programme (LSP) training in Pune is a first-of-its-kind initiative in South Asia, organized by the Salesians to provide spiritual, vocational and pedagogical formation to lay collaborators and educators working in Don Bosco institutions.
Teacher Marilyn has successfully completed this year-and-a-half-long programme in June.
The assembly concluded with the powerful message, “A better community begins with me!” followed by a community prayer. The presentation left everyone with a simple yet meaningful reminder that even a small act of kindness can make a big difference.”
